Lasting Impressions

Safher is an application designed for women’s safety in public spaces. Safher curates which routes are safest for women and portrays this to the user on a visual colour scale. Safher helps women in unfamiliar areas of the world feel safer when travelling through new places. Other navigation apps focus on the quickest route, Safher focuses on the safest route.

With an unorthodox, visually engaging interface, Safher appeals to young women by balancing safety with a trendy, social feel. The brand rejects typical feminine tropes, using bold typography and bright colours to emphasise uniqueness and strength. The extended crossbar of the "H" in Safher symbolises both the safe routes suggested by the app and the everyday obstacles women face due to their gender. Overall Safher aims to create a fresh approach to branding that creates a sense of empowerment while underlining that womanhood isn’t ‘one size fits all’.

The project scope included UX & UI design, brand assets and photography.
